Airlie Beach is known as the Heart of Australia's Great Barrier Reef (GBR) due to its position near the centre of the GBR that stretches for two thousand kilometres along the coast. Near latitude 20 degrees south, Airlie Beach and the nearby Whitsunday Islands enjoy a tropical climate and lifestyle.

Cairns

Cairns is a popular travel destination for foreign tourists because of its tropical climate and proximity to many attractions. The Great Barrier Reef can be reached in less than an hour by boat. Daintree National Park and Cape Tribulation, about 130 km (81 mi) north of Cairns, are popular areas for experiencing a tropical rainforest. Mossman

Mossman is a very typical North Queensland country town. It has a distinctly rural feel with the difference being the lush green background of the surrounding vegetation. Whilst there are some fabulous places to visit, Mossman Gorge in particular, most people see Mossman on the way to other areas.
